ECCO2R (Extracorporeal CO2 Removal)
Adding a series of membranes, which are used to remove CO2 gas from the body in the CRRT system, is helpful in sick patients with breathing problems in certain situations. ECCO2R facilitates Lung Protective Ventilation (use of Tidal Volume) by releasing trapped CO2 gas in patients with ARDS, and helps weaning from the ventilator in patients with COPD. ECCO2R can replace mechanical ventilation in cases of Hypercapnic Respiratory Failure.
